BEING A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CERTAIN CHARITABLE GAMBLING
EXEMPTIONS IN THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS
BE IT R~OLVED by the City of Columbia Heights that charitable gambling
exemptions will be granted to bona fide charitable organizations provided,
however, that the following requirements are met:
1. The organization wishing to gamble obtains the permission from the
Minnesota Charitable Gambling Control Board.
2. The organization wishing to gamble obtains the permissioh of the
Columbia Heights City Council.
3. The organization wishing to conduct gambling has been in existence for
not less than ten (10) years and is a non-profit organization as
determined by the Internal Revenue Service and/or the Minnesota
Secretary of State. Organizations wishing to gamble and have been in
existence in Columbia Heights for not tess than ten (10) years will
be granted five (5) exemptions per year. Organizations wishing to
gamble, but have not been in existence in Columbia Heights for not
less than ten (IO) years will be granted one (1) exemption per year.
4. The organization wishing to conduct gambling must indicate the value
of prizes by category to be awarded; such information shall be pro-
vided at the time of application.
5. The organization wishing to gamble does not pay, and the proprietor
of the licensed premises does not receive, rent in an amount in excess
of $1.00 per year or other remuneration for permitting the gambling
activity or device to be located on the I censed premises.
