HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 85-09RESOLUTION NO. 85-09 BEING A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, WHEREAS, the City Council of the.City of Columbia H6ights by Motion on the 22nd day of January, 1985 ordered notice of a hearing to be given to property owners to appear at a Council Meeting on March .4, 1985, and WHEREAS, the Meeting of March 4, 1985, was adjourned to March 18, 1985, and WHEREAS, pursuant to a notice of hearing certain residents appeared at the Council Meeting of March 4 and March 18, 1985, and WHEREAS, the Council determines to proceed with this local improvement, a portion of the cost being defrayed by special assessments under Charter provisions. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED: 1. That the location and extent of such improvements is as follows: Reconstruction of the alley between Polk Street N.E. and Buchanan Street N.E. from 37th Avenue N.E. to 39th Avenue N.E. Said alley runs south from Buchanan Street NoE. and 39th Avenue N.E. and then dead ends just short of 37th Avenue N.E. Work would include new bituminous surfacing, storm sewer improvements, a retaining wall and construction of a turn-around at the deadend, the replacement of old galvanized and lead water services within the alley right-of-way from the water service shutoff to the City main, and miscellaneous associated construction items. Water service replacements are proposed to be assessed on a per parcel basis if replacement is necessary. 2. That the materials to be used are as follows: Aggregate base, concrete surfacing~ bituminous surfacing, wood retain!ng wall, sod, 1" copper water service pipe, P.V.C. storm sewer pipe, reinforced concrete storm sewer pipe, concrete manholes and catch basins and various appurtenances. That a careful estimate of the cost of the impr~vements has been made by the City Manager and the several lots and parcels of land fronting upon and adjacent to such proposed improvements, which be deemed benefited thereby, were properly notified of said hearings, and 4. That the Ctty Manager shall also list the names and owners of the several parcels so improved as nearly as can be ascertained. 5. These improvements shall also be known as Project No. 776.
