HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 66-17 A RESOLUTION ORDERING A CERTAIN BUILDING LOCATED AT 4655 tOHNSON STREET NORTHEAST, COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA, TO BE RAISED AND REMOVED. WHEREAS, Stanton N. and Virginia Lee Opdahl, husband and wife, are the owners of certain buildings located at 4655 [ohnson Street Northeast, Columbia Heights, Minnesota, on the below legally described prope£ty, and -W-I-IEREAS, a certain building is located on the f~ont pa~t of the lot adjacent to Johnson Street Northeast, and %AZI-IEREAS, that building is best described as a block and wood structure, and WHEREAS, after the receipt of numerous complaints, the Council of the City of Columbia Heights ordered an inspection to be made of the above described premises, which described premises was found to be inadequately maintained, dilapidated, physically damaged, abandoned and in a state of disrepair and constitutes a hazard to the public safety and health and that does violate existing ordinances of the City of Columbia Heights, and ~ArHE~JiS, the Council of the City of Columbia Heights finds that the above described building is inadequately maintained; that the building is dilapidated; that the building is physically damaged; that the building is abandoned; and that the building does constitute a hazard to the public safety and health; and that it does not conform to the building code of the City of Columbia Heights. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Stanton ill. and Virginia Lee Opdahl, husband and wife, shall be ordered to raise and remove that building on the property legally described as: The East Ninety-Four (94) feet of the No~th One Hundred Thkty Five and Thirty One-Hundredths (135.30) feet of Lot One (1), Block One Sheffieldz s Subdivision. This action is taken pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Annotated 463.15 to 463.26 on the grounds that the said building is a hazardous building within the meaning of that statute.
