HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 49-54WHEREAS an application has been made to the Federal Housing Administrat~on at Minneapolis, Minnesota, for the approval of the site located on the east side of Jackson Street between 40th and 41st Avenues N.E., or legally described as Lots 24, 25, 26 and 27, Columbia Heights Annex to Minneapolis, Anoka County, Minnesota, for the erection of an apartment building, designed to meet the engineering specification and construction requirements of the Federal Housing Administration; and WPLEREAS the above site is an ideal location, and the said housing needs is in great demand within this City; and WHEREAS the above project is a defense measure, ~eing mid center of the defense plants located in this area, and which would be defeated for the lack of proper loaning funds without Federal Housing Insurance; THEREFORE BE iT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that we urge the approval of the above site for the construction and development of the above-named project by the said Federal Housing Administration to the end that said project may immediately be gotten under way; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the Director of the Federal Housing Administration at Minneapolis, Minnesota, and to the main office at Washington, D. C., and to the Honorable Roy Wier, Congressman of the 3rd Congressional District of Minnesota.
