WMERMAS, there is now pending b~fore the
State Legislature of the State of Minnesota, Senate
Bill #353, introduced by 3snator Novak of f3t. Paul,
which bill in~ends %o divert '20~ of the net orofits
of any municipal liquor s~ore to the county wherein
such munio~l liquor ~ore is located, for general
county purposes, and
w~EREAS, the passage of such a ~1!1 would be
seriously detrimental to municipal owners of liquor
stores and thme seriously impair municipal financing,
and
WHEREAS, ~uch provision is contrary to the
provisions of Home Rule as enjoyed oy municipalities,
and
~HEEEAB, there is no provision ma.de fop th~
diversion of license fees of orivat~ly operated
liquor stores for
O? T~] GITY OF OOLU~}JIA HEIGHT~ that !t vigorously
opposes ~ssage of such an act and requests of the
duly authorized representatives to the 3tats Legis-
lature from the 44th Dls~rict to exert theIp influence
to ~he utmost to the defea~ of such a megsure.
