BEING A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEHENTS
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia HeiEhts on the
10th day of January, 1994 ordered notice of a hearinE to be Eiven to property
o~rners, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to a notice of hearinE certain residents appeared at a Council
MeetinE on the 21st day of March, 1994, and
WdEREAS, the Council determines to proceed with this local improvement, a portion
of the cost beinE defrayed by special assessments under Charter provisions.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED=
1. That the location and extent of such improvements is as follows:
Sealcoatin~ Streets of all bituminous City streets in the Southwest
Quadrant oI the City (Area II) plus University Avenue Service Road from
44th Avenue NE to 53rd Avenue NE. The Southwest Quadrant of the City is
that part bounded by Califo~nia Street on the west from 37th Avenue to
40th Avenue and Main Street on the west (not included) from 40th Avenue to
45th Avenue, 45th Avenue NE on the north from Main Street to University
Avenue and 44th Avenue NEon the north from University Avenue Service Road
to Central Avenue, Central Avenue on the east (not /ncluded) and $?th
Avenue NE on the south (not included).
Work would include selective concrete curb and Eutter replacement,
bituminous surface patchinE and sealcoat application.
2. That the materials to be used are as follows:
Miscellaneous concrete curb repair, bituminous patchinE, asphalt emulsion
and seal coat aEEreEate.
3. That a careful estimate of the cost of the improvements has been made by
the City ManaEer and the several lots and parcels of land front/nE upon
and adjacent to such proposed improvements, which be deemed benefited
thereby, were properly notified of said hearinEs, and
4. That the City ManaEer shall also list the names and o~ners of the several
parcels so ~nproved as nearly as can be ascertained.
5. That the City ManaEer shall proceed with takinE of bids for the
improvements, or portions of the improvements as stated herein.
6. These improvements shall also be known as P.I.R. ~889 - Project 9401.
7. If the cost, after receivinE the bids, exceeds 10Z of the estimate, the
public hearinE will be reopened.
8. That the policy would be that administrative and enEineerinE costs will
not be part of the assessment but will be paid by the City.
