SUPPORTING ANOKA COUNTY DESIGNATION OF MINOR ARTERIALS
WHEREAS, Anoka County has prepared and adopted the Anoka County
2010 Comprehensive Transportation Plan to address roadway and
transit needs, both those which currently exist and those which can
be expected over the next twenty years, and
WHEREAS, the Anoka County 2010 Comprehensive Transportation Plan
proposes a Functional Classification System for roadways under its
jurisdiction, which classifies routes as principal arterials, minor
arterials, collectors and locals, and
WHEREAS, minor arterials are broken into Minor Arterial "A" and
Minor Arterial "B" classifications based on route length, spacing,
traffic volume and other criteria, and,
WHEREAS, the City of Columbia Heights has been given the
opportunity to review the proposed classification system as it
relates to the needs and desires of its citizens;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Columbia Heights that it supports the proposed classification of
Minor Arterial "A" and Minor Arterial "B" routes within the City of
Columbia Heights that are under the jurisdiction of Anoka County as
shown in the Anoka County 2010 Comprehensive Transportation Plan,
adopted by the Anoka County Board of Commissioners on June 12,
1990.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized
and directed to forward one certified copy of this Resolution to
the Anoka County Board of Commissioners.
