HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 56-176WHEREAS, the. economic prosperity and progress of Anoka County is increasing dependent upon expediting the development of adequate highways, roadsand streets, and THEREAs, after long and extended study by the 1954-55 HIGH~AY STUDY COMMISSION of the Minnesota Transportation system, and the subsequent study and report of the legislative Interim C~ission on Highway taxes Distribution~ and WHEREA~, the study and report of both of the above named study commissions considered the basic factors of classification, and distribution based em needs, mileage and road use as related to our overall transportatiom s~ which includes State Trunk Highway, State Aid Roads and municipal state-aid streets, and WHEREAS, all of the abov~ philos~ and criteria is based on the recognized standards of distribution for highway users funds, and WHEREA~, the.proposed new State Ai~ and rules and regulations assure the road user that their ~x dollars will be spent prudently and wisely, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED~ that the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights hes.~tedly support the proposals as set forth in Amend- merit No.2 and urge its adoption.
