HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 52-39E~ERQENCY RESOLUTION WHEREAS, existing federal rent control shall cease to be in effect at the close of September 30, 1952,'in the City of Columbia Heights unless prior to September 30, 1952, there is adopted by resolution of the City of'Columbia Heights, a declaration that there exists a substantial shortage of housing accommodations which requires the continuation of federal rent control in the City of Columbia Heights, and WHEREAS, in recognition of the fact that there is a substantial shortage of housing accommodations in the City of Columbia Heights it is necessary that federal rent control be continued in the City'of Columbia'Heights beyond SePtember 30, 1952 to protect the public health, peace and safety. ~ THEREFORE, be it -- RESOLVED -- by the City Council of the City of Columbia H~ights,~County of Anoka, State of Minnesota, as follows: Pursuant to Section 204 (f) of the Housing and Rent Act of 1947, as amended, Public Law ~29, 82nd Congress, it is hereby declared that a substantial shortage of housing accommodations exists in the City of Columbia Heights, Anoka County, Minnesota, which requires the continuance of federal rent.control in said CitY of Columbia Heights, ~kaepln County, Minnesota, beyond Sep- tember 30, 1952. That the City. Clerk be, and she hereby is, dlr- ec~ed to transmit a certified copy of this res- olu~i0n to Mr. Tighe E. Woods, Director of Rent Stabilization, Washington 25, D. C.
