HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2001-80RESOLUTION NO. 2001-80 RESOLUTION REGARDING EMPLOYER CONTRIBUTION TO INSURANCES FOR 2002 WHEREAS, employer contribution to insurances for eligible union and non-union employees for 2002 were previously negotiated and established; WHEREAS, effective January 1, 2002, health insurance premiums will be increasing 48%; WHEREAS, neither the City nor the unions anticipated this dramatic an increase in insurance premiums during the course of contract negotiations for the current bargaining agreements; WHEREAS, in an effort to help lessen the impact to employees of the significant premium increase while attempting to minimize the impact on the City budget; BE IT RESOLVED, that the employer contribution to insurances for eligible union and non-union employees previously established effective January 1, 2003, will become effective January 1, 2002; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such change will be effective for union employees once a memorandum of understanding is entered into between the City and the respective union(s).
