CONTINUED BOARD OF REVIEW
COLUMBIA HEIGHTS CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 29, 1991
Mayor Carlson called the Continued Board of Review back into order at
6:30 p.m..
1. ROLL CALL
Nawrocki, Clerkin, Ruettimann, Peterson, Carlson - present
2. PRESENTATION OF INFORMATION BY COUNTY REPRESENTATIVES
Carrol McCain and Ed Thurston, from the An~ka County Assessor's Office were
in attendance at the meeting.
McCain advised that the only properties in the City which had requested
an adjustment were discussed at the Continued Board of Review. of April
23rdo
McCain distributed a list of properties which reflected those owned by
property owners who had attended the April 15th Board of Review, had
contacted staff from the Assessor's Office, had contacted members of
the City Council, and who had written to the Board of Review.
McCain stated that all doubles in the City had received a five percent
decrease on value. An additional five percent decrease was granted to
those doubles which were located in adverse area as specified at the
April 15th Board of Review.
Councilmember Nawrocki inquired what considerations were made for the
reduction granted on the building at 4315 Central Avenue. Thurston
responded that this is a large site, odd-shaped parcel and was more
land than was needed for the building. Excess landage was the primary
reason for the reduction.
Thurston advised that the total valuation for the City for 1991 is
$543,966,400 for taxes payable in 1992. The total valuation for the
City in 1990 was $536,692,800.
3. ADOPTION OF ASSESSMENT ROLLS
Motion by Nawrocki, second by Ruettimann to adopt the 1991 Assessment
Rolls as presented. Roll call: All ayes
4. ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Ruettimann, second by Peterson to adjourn the Continued Board
of Review at 6:40 p.m.. Roll call: All ayes
