Roll Call" -- Paul son, Petkoff, Carlson, Peterson- present Nawrocki - absent 2. Appointment of Secretary Pro-Tem Motion by Peterson, second by Paulson to appoint William Elrite, Finance Director, Secretary Pro-Tem. Roll call: All ayes 3. Approval of Tax Levy Resolutions a. Resolution No. 87-56; Adopting a Budget for the Year 1988 and Levying Taxes This budget reflects an increase of 1.1 mill over that of 1987. Motion by Peterson, second by Paulson to waive the reading of the resolution there being ample copies available to the public. Roll call: All ayes RESOLUTION NO. 87-56 ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 1988 AND LEVYING TAXES BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights as follows: Section A. The budget for the City of Columbia Heights for the year 1988 is hereby approved and adopted with appropriations for each of the funds as follows: General Fund Revenue Sharing Fund Recreation Fund Para Transit Fund State Aid Cable Television Fund Capital Improvements Fund Central Garage Fund Liquor Fund Water Utility Fund Sewer Utility Fund Refuse Fund Debt Service Fund Total Expense Including'lnterfund Transfers Expense 5,534,098 80,740 571,171 31,847 273,620 84,925 230,000 195,053 4,025,367 1,212,O26 899,703 572,361 1,327,796 15,O38,707 Section B. The following sums of money are levied for the current years, col- lectible in 1988, upon the taxable property in said City of Columbia Heights, for the following purposes: General Fund 2,391,689 Bond & Interest Total 2,391,689 The City Clerk is hereby instructed to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the County Auditor of Anoka County, Minnesota. Resolution No. 87-57; Confirming Tax Levy by the Housing and Redevelopment Authority for Fiscal Year 1988 Motion by Paulson, second by Carlson to waive the reading of the resolution there being ample copies available to the public. Roll call: All ayes Special Budget Meeting October 8, 1987 page 3 RESOLUTION NO. 87-57 CONFIRMING TAX LEVY BY THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY FOR FISCAL Y£AR 1988 BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, THAT WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Columbia Heights, Minnesota, has adopted a budget as shown on their attached resolution, and WHEREAS, said Authority has also resolved that a special tax to be levied of $36,381 upon all taxable property, both real and personal, in the City of Columbia Heights, and WHEREAS, Section 462.545, Subdivision 6, of the Minnesota Statutes requires approval by the governing body of the municipality in and for which said Authority was created. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights approves and consents to the levy of $36,381 upon all taxable property, both real and personal, in the City of Columbia Heights, by said Authority, as special taxing district, for use for the purpose of the redevelopment provisions of Section 462.711 of the Minnesota Statutes.
