MOTION: Move to waive the reading of Resolution 2002-57, there being ample copies
available to the general public.
MOTION: Move to adopt Resolution 2002-57, being a Resolution Canvassing Municipal
Primary Election Returns.

On September 10, 2002 the City held a primary election to select two Mayoral candidates and four
Council Member candidates. Attached are the results of the election and the resolution canvassing said
election.
RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to waive the reading of Resolution No. 2002-57, there being
ample copies available to the public.
RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to adopt Resolution 2002-57 canvassing municipal primary
election returns.

COUNCIL ACTION:
RESOLUTION NO. 2002-57
CANVASSING MUNICIPAL PRIMARY ELECTION RETURNS
WHEREAS, the City of Columbia Heights, did on the 10th day of September, 2002, conduct and hold a
Primary Municipal Election for the purpose of nominating candidates for one office of Mayor and two offices
of Council Member to be voted on at a General Municipal Election on November 5, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights at a meeting of said Council held on the 1 lth
day of September 2002, did canvass the returns and results of said Primary Municipal Election; and
WHEREAS, the following results were determined by said canvass of said Primary Municipal Election, to
wit:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia
Heights, that Gary L. Peterson and Julienne Wyckoff are hereby declared to be the candidates for the 2 year
Mayor Seat and Tammera Ericson, Bruce Kelzenberg, Tom Ramsdell and Joseph S. Sturdevant are hereby
declared to be the candidates for the two four-year Council Seats at the General Municipal Election to be
held on November 5, 2002.
