CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS CANVASS 2002 PRIMARY ELECTION RESULTS AGENDA Call to Order/Roll Call Pledge of Allegiance Adopt Resolution No. 2002-57, Canvassing Primary Election Returns of September 10, 2002 MOTION: Move to waive the reading of Resolution 2002-57, there being ample copies available to the general public. MOTION: Move to adopt Resolution 2002-57, being a Resolution Canvassing Municipal Primary Election Returns. 4. Attached are the results of the election and the resolution canvassing said election. RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to waive the reading of Resolution No. 2002-57, there being ample copies available to the public. RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to adopt Resolution 2002-57 canvassing municipal primary election returns. Attachments: Resolution 2002-57 Summary COUNCIL ACTION: RESOLUTION NO. 2002-57 CANVASSING MUNICIPAL PRIMARY ELECTION RETURNS WHEREAS, the City of Columbia Heights, did on the 10th day of September, 2002, conduct and hold a Primary Municipal Election for the purpose of nominating candidates for one office of Mayor and two offices of Council Member to be voted on at a General Municipal Election on November 5, 2002; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights at a meeting of said Council held on the 1 lth day of September 2002, did canvass the returns and results of said Primary Municipal Election; and WHEREAS, the following results were determined by said canvass of said Primary Municipal Election, to wit: TOTAL BALLOTS CAST IN ELECTION: 3,161 Valid Ballots cast for One Two-Year Mayor Seat Gary L. Peterson 1,222 Richard L. Schmidt 588 Julienne Wyckoff 1,226 Overvotes 0 Times Voted Blank 125 Undervotes N/A Valid Votes Cast for Two 4-Year Council Seats Bob Buboltz 462 Tammera (Tarni) Ericson 1,361 Deb Johnson 537 Bruce Kelzenberg 1,482 Bob Odden 205 Tom Ramsdell 567 Joseph S. Sturdevant 1,098 Overvotes 0 Times voted Blank 126 Undervotes 358 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that Gary L. Peterson and Julienne Wyckoff are hereby declared to be the candidates for the 2 year Mayor Seat and Tammera Ericson, Bruce Kelzenberg, Tom Ramsdell and Joseph S. Sturdevant are hereby declared to be the candidates for the two four-year Council Seats at the General Municipal Election to be held on November 5, 2002.
